Position Description:
•Develop intelligent power distribution and management subsystems and associated hardware components for military vehicle platforms.
•Develop test plans/procedures and conduct power system testing in high power lab for the Stryker Power Distribution and Management subsystem and associated hardware and provide detailed test reports.
•Write subsystem design requirements and associated interface control documents, including CAN interface control documents.
•Write hardware component development and/or design requirements and product fabrication documents.
•Support development, design, build, and test of power distribution and management hardware components.
•Model and simulate power distribution and management subsystems and high power switching and electromechanical devices.
•Write test requirements, procedures, reports, and perform tests in the laboratory and in vehicles as required for power distribution and management subsystems and associated hardware components.
•Support vehicle integration of power distribution and management subsystems and subsystem hardware as required.
•Gather technical information, analyze technical problems, develop technical solutions, and implement technical solutions.
•Conduct and/or participate in peer reviews of schematics and other drawings, specifications/requirements, interface control documents, I/O matrices, etc, as required.
Position Requirements:
•Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
•Less than 3 years work experience is necessary.
•Background in electrical power systems (energy storage, power generation, power distribution, power management) including the specification, development, design, testing, integration, and troubleshooting of vehicle electrical energy storage subsystems and vehicle electrical power subsystems, along with their associated hardware components, is required.
•Familiarity with various communication busses, and experience with CAN bus, along with the ability to troubleshoot CAN bus related issues associated with hardware components of electrical power systems, is required.
•Experience in Analog and Digital Circuit Design of high power (28, 270, 600 Vdc) switching components/electronics, DC/DC converters, inverters, and motor controllers is required.
•Experience in power generation, distribution, and management of Hybrid Electric Drive vehicles, including an understanding of associated energy storage (battery) systems is required.
•Ability to use Engineering Development and Test Tools.
•Must have the ability to understand customer requirements and the ability to further incorporate them into subsystem designs and/or hardware concepts and designs.
•Able to handle task conflict and ambiguity and work with minimum supervision.
•Occasional work in shop, laboratory and manufacturing areas is required.
