The Advanced Engine Systems & Powertrain Lead – Large SUVs is responsible for leading component selection, technical design, and development from concept selection to program approval and supporting Systems & Components Engineering through commercial launch for all engine system and powertrain components. This lead will work with the Engine Systems and Powertrain Advance Project Responsibles and technical leads to maximize standardization and reuse, as well as implement best practices and lessons learned. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that: the geometry on the advance and pre-production trees is correct, all open items are contained in the vehicle logbook with appropriate action plans, and the correct geometry is released at the required step releases. The Advanced Engine Systems & Powertrain Lead will also support management reviews.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET or equivalent program
•Eight years of engineering experience
•Ability to lead cross functional teams
•Ability to reach consensus on complicated issues
•Ability to solve conflicting requirements across engineering groups
•Able to construct and execute work plans
•A passion for vehicles and the ability to assess full vehicle performance characteristics
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master of Science degree in Engineering or an MBA
•Five years of engine system and/or powertrain design, development and manufacturing process experience
•Teamcenter and Vis-Pro proficient
•Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Strong computer software skills
•Experience with DFMEA & DVP&R
