The Ferris State University Social Work Department in Big Rapids Michigan invites applications for a tenure-track position. The position is primarily teaching in in our MSW trauma informed infused clinical curriculum. While supporting and encouraging research, Ferris State University is primarily a teaching university. We encourage applicants with substantial clinical experience who are interested in teaching and mentoring our next generation of social work clinicians.
The position is to teach across both the BSW and MSW curriculum but primarily teaching in the MSW curriculum. Faculty need to be open to teaching at two sites in Michigan: Traverse City and Big Rapids, but this position is primarily for the Big Rapids campus. Responsibilities include teaching primarily the clinical practice courses, mentoring MSW students in the capstone research and contributing to the ongoing development of the Department of Social Work. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching, the ability to work effectively with both faculty colleagues and students, and participation in other functions of academic significance. Required: Candidate must have a Masters in Social Work (MSW), and a doctoral degree, preferably in social work by August 2019. Candidate must be eligible and apply for a Michigan Social Work License upon hire. The successful candidate must demonstrate potential for higher education teaching excellence and the ability to work effectively with both the faculty and students.
