Job Summary:
To assist and work closely with teachers, administrators, and other team members in providing instructional support for at-risk students in Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
Essential Functions:
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce the learning of materials or skills initially introduced and outlined by the certified teacher
- Provide individual student support pushing in and out of the classroom
- Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing learning materials and skills based on a understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities
- Monitor work and assist with the supervision curriculum-based testing
- Serve as the chief source of information and provide help to any guest teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher
- Perform PBIS Support, student behavior management system, and instructional duties as assigned by the teacher
- Alert the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform similar or other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree required or Work Keys test completed
- Ability to assist students with special needs in a learning environment as needed.
- Emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and/or stand for 8 hours or more. May have to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
