The Facility Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing mechanical engineering for developing manufacturing shop floor facility infrastructure such as Floor concrete, Roof, facility painting and restoration, Chilled water systems, Coolant Filtration systems, Mist Collection systems, mechanical and electrical installations of production and facility equipment, developing scope of work, working with various contractors to develop facility equipment and installation plans, projects, problem resolution, and enhancements to mechanical building systems at the Fiat Chrysler Engine Manufacturing Engineering Center(EMEC).
The Facilities Mechanical Engineer will assess current losses in manufacturing facility and the mechanical condition of various mechanical/utility systems and equipment as well as design and install mechanical systems including schematic design. The person in this role assists the consulting engineers in the creation of Installation and construction documents, creates long-term facility improvement plans based on assessment results, and develops work packages for facility mechanical/utility systems. The Engineer will provide technical direction for building mechanical/utility systems, studies and analysis for various facility systems and technical guidance to manufacturing facilities for energy efficiency, conservation and optimization. The Engineer develops schedules and manages the workload for new programs. This position is also responsible for improving Engine Plants facility efficiencies, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction. The Facility Mechanical Engineer will be required to follow World Class Technology methodology and develop project plans to optimize investment and minimize losses.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
•5+ years of experience in mechanical installation and design
•Experience in facility equipment, facility equipment restoration, and the creation of equipment installation documents
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Demonstrated leadership ability
•Familiarity with Architectural and Engineering basics knowledge
•Strong in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel and Microsoft Project)
•Experience conducting energy analysis and optimization
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree preferred
•Knowledge of World Class Technology (WCT) Early Equipment Management principles
