GP Strategies Corporation is searching for a Body in White (BIW) Instructor our of our Auburn Hills, MI office working as part of a cross functional team and traveling to client sites as needed.
Job Summary:
The candidate will research engineering information to develop training materials on panel alignment and body dimensional issues and deliver training to production employees on site at clients manufacturing facilities. The candidate will also develop and deliver sheet metal repair training. This is a technical lead providing the client with expertise to help resolve engineering, product, and production issues during all phases of pilot build, product launch and production as related to body geometry and sheet metal surface quality. In addition, the ideal candidate will provide input to client regarding training requirements for a particular vehicle, system or launch.
Required Qualifications:
* 5 plus years work experience in related field
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge of Body assembly processes
* Hands on skill and expertise in metal finishing process
* Knowledge of sheet metal surface quality parameters
* Experience in problem solving manufacturing issues related to production design / documentation
* Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Project)
* Able to work in cross-functional & cross-cultural environment
* Must satisfy requirements for criminal background check , drug screen, and MVR
Preferred Qualifications:
* Automotive manufacturing plant experience
* Training experience
* Paintless dent repair expertise
Physical Requirements:
The selected candidate will be based onsite with our team at our customers location and travel to other customer facilities is required. This person will work a flexible schedule on a project to project basis, filling in the work gaps on current projects. Physical requirements of the job include walking and standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, twisting and moving training equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.
