INSPECTOR QUALITY

Inspect finished castings to ensure compliance with company and customer quality requirements.  Perform all tasks with safety and quality in mind and in accordance with established procedures and process instructions.  Take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production.

• 3 positions for 2nd shift
• 1 position for 3rd shift

Essential Duties:

• Visually inspect and test castings for dimensional, soundness, and hardness compliance using a variety of measuring instruments, go/no-go gauges, fixtures, and nondestructive testing processes.
• Perform statistical analysis on inspected castings and document results using statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
• Update and complete routing forms, check sheets, documents, and information systems as required.
• Audit production practices for compliance with quality procedures and process instructions using such instruments as hardness gauges, stop watches, temperature probes, etc.
• Possess an in depth knowledge of cleaning, inspection, coremaking, and molding operations.
• Review and recommend revisions to process instructions for the cleaning of castings, final release, and other departments.
• Inform supervisor of rejected lots or quality concerns as necessary.

Additional Duties:

• Operate hand tools to remove fins, parting lines, gate and riser contacts and other irregularities from castings.
