Position Summary
The position provides front-desk assistance and triage including answering phones; correspondence; typing; editing and composing materials; maintaining calendars, schedules and the working structure of the office.
Maintains records of keys, schedules room use and arranges for building repairs to administer the physical facilities of the Center. Maintains computer equipment and acts as a resource on computer-related issues and problems.
Hires and provides leadership to student employees including assigning tasks, reviewing work, training and answering questions regarding work. Monitors, calculates and processes student payroll. Assists with hiring ULAs and Graduate Assistants as needed.
Monitors accounts, maintains and reconciles bookkeeping records, submits bills for departmental or individual products or services. Maintains and updates department''s electronic records.
Provides support to the Office Supervisor in assisting with course scheduling and overrides when needed.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education with coursework in typing and shorthand; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, calendaring and/or presentation software; typing and filing; and may require knowledge of technical or medical terminology and/or technical training related to the field of employment; may require bilingual abilities in a specific language; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
