Job Summary
The Co-op student under the direction of a DTE Engineer or experienced Technician performs electrical and mechanical inspections and testing on electrical power equipment, protective relaying schemes, SCADA systems and associated controls at DTE Energy locations, primary customer locations and other electric utilities with DTE Energy assets.
Key Accountabilities
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
•Must have completed thirty-two (32) credit hours toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology degree form an accreted college or university.
•Must be able to carry equipment weighing approximately 70 pounds.
•Must be able to work from ladders and Ariel Work Platforms or in places having uncertain footing.
•Must be able to work with people at all levels both within and outside the Company.
•Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in written, with all internal and external customers.
•Must have the analytical skills to perform troubleshooting and problem solving using electrical theory and physical science principals.
•Must have demonstrated proficiency reading blueprints, electrical control schematics and wiring diagrams.
•Must be proficient with basic computer functions (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel).
•Must have a valid driver's license, provide a suitable vehicle for use on Company business and meet Company driving standards.
