The Senior Energy Specialist will assist FCA manufacturing facilities in developing and implementing projects to optimize energy used by buildings, processes, machines and equipment, minimizing energy loss and reducing energy waste during production and non-production periods. The Energy Specialist will develop energy efficiency and conservation initiatives, and monitor energy compliance. The person in this position also assists the Manufacturing Engineering organization in developing energy efficient standards and specifications, so that new facilities, processes, machines, and equipment will use less energy than those they replace.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
•3+ years of energy related experience in manufacturing plants
•Working knowledge of central air compressors and chillers, air handling units and processes such as spray booths, parts washers, coolant systems, and paint ovens.
•Ability to perform engineering/analytical analysis and calculations for all systems and processes that utilize electricity and natural gas
•Basic understanding of utility energy rebates and incentive programs
•Ability to train and support the energy group and NAFTA plants in multiple energy related subjects (Demand Response, Regression Analysis, Curtailment, and Energy Optimization)
•Ability to prepare and present technical findings to all levels of the organization
•Expertise in working with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:
•5+ years of energy management
•Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
