- Master’s degree in special education or a field of study related to supporting students with significant behavior disorders, teaching certification with ASD or EI endorsements preferred.
- Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA) preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Three to five years of experience implementing research-based strategies to address challenging behaviors.
- Knowledge and experience in programming for students with special needs. Center based experience preferred.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to assess and accurately document student behavior and instructional progress
- Ability to make decisions and problem solve within a team.
- Ability to apply knowledge of current behavior research and theory to instructional programs.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to communicate clearly and concisely in written and oral communication with administrators, staff, parents/guardians and community agencies
- Ability to deal effectively with pressure; maintains focus and intensity and remains optimistic and persistent, even under adversity.
- Knowledgeable about educational organizations, educational law and the areas of educational assessment and evaluation.
