Position Summary
The Work Readiness Coordinator (WRC) provides job coaching, vocational rehabilitation, work behavior intervention and support to participants in the agency’s work focused programs. The WRC reviews participant progress, solves problems and schedules activities for each participant while modeling the agency’s core values of Success, Collaboration, People & Positivity.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Functions
- Develop positive working relationships with all participants, including job coaching and support that enables them to improve work habits and behaviors related to work e.g. hygiene, attendance, quality, etc.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding and mastery of all jobs a participant may be assigned to.
- Understand and enforce all agency, department and safety rules, policies and procedures; coach participants to perform within guidelines.
- Create and implement interventions specifically targeted to each participant in order to increase performance and enhance work behavior.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of participant performance in Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database.
- Generate, edit and issue written reports to referring entities and counselors; bill invoices accordingly.
- Meet and communicate positively and professionally with Mission Services team members and community partners.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Effective written and oral communication skills; emphasis on strong report writing skills
- Proficiency in computer usage, especially the Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work on and with a team; a positive attitude!
- Knowledge of established hiring practices and procedures
- Knowledge of job skills and abilities required in a variety of employment situations
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Job coaching experience and/or experience helping others learn new skills or tasks
- Experience working with people with disabilities and/or barriers to employment
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 35 pounds repeatedly, grasping, reaching, bending, twisting; extended periods of time standing; pushing, pulling.
Other
The Work Readiness Coordinator works in three locations Monday-Thursday 8:45am-7:45pm on a weekly basis (and every Super Saturday) as follows:
- 25 hours/week at the Goodwill Alcott Headquarters, coaching in the commercial department and performing administrative duties in their office (data entry, phone calls, email; activities that do not include direct participant contact)
- 15 hours/week coaching at Goodwill’s West Main & Milham retail stores on a rotating schedule; coaching occurs in the late afternoon/evening from 4:00pm-7:45pm Monday-Thursday
- For the week of Super Saturday the schedule is Saturday 10-4:30, Monday-Wednesday 8:45am-7:45pm, and Thursday 8:45am-3:00pm
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Must pass a criminal background check allowing applicant to work with target population.
Must be willing to participate in one professional development activity every calendar year.
Must be insurable on Goodwill’s commercial auto insurance policy.
