Position Description:
Responsible for all production efforts within assigned departments. Assigning manpower and ensuring all production kits are available. Monitoring performance of team including schedule, cost, quality, and safety. Identifying root causes of performance issues and setting up plan for improvement. Responsible for following performance improvement efforts until goals are met. Administrative duties include timecard approval, teaching employees the standard practices and software used for production. Teaching employees how to use all the resources to improve performance. Responsible for coordinating with production planner to support the production floor. Responsible for providing replacement material as needed. Support, promote, and provide feedback on business management systems procedures (ISO, regulatory, etc.) and policies, examples: Ensuring business metrics are met. Ensuring product quality requirements are met. Ensuring safe work practices are followed by employees. Ensuring procedures/instructions are performed appropriately. Reporting to management where business requirements cannot be met, or failed to meet expectations. General management duties for areas under supervisor's control: Employee hiring, Employee time management, ensuring completion of employee training requirements. Short/long term production scheduling and planning. Providing input on bid proposals. Interfacing with support groups. Coordinate production, repair & overhaul (R&O), engineering prototype, and test activities in an electronics and mechanical assembly production environment. Report out status of production assemblies and plan to complete. Ability to be a part of a continuous improvement culture that includes Lean Six Sigma tools and concepts. Hold team meetings and provide information sharing and performance goals and expectations.
Position Requirements:
Knowledge of production and test processes. Electronic troubleshooting skills a plus. Problem solving skills a must. Able to approach issues with a systematic approach that yields positive results. Possess good written and verbal communication skills. Possess extremely good interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in MS Office applications. Knowledge and proficiency of Oracle MRP skills beneficial. Overtime will be required as needed. Able to wear proper PPE (Personal protective equipment). Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and concepts, Green Belt certification a plus. Able to use, modify, and explain prepared reports to aid in meeting production goals. Able to learn and master our systems quickly. Ability to treat employees with respect.Knowledge of ISO practices. Ability to coordinate manpower and work and create contingency plans.
