Overview
The advanced Operation Support Service Team provides support for a large client with regard to detailed change implementation (change and configuration management), incident/problem management, availability and performance management, and ITIL processes (e.g. Release Management, etc.). This will also include input into DNS and DHCP architecture and design, if requested.
Requirements
•Senior technical and working knowledge of DNS, DHCP and IPAM (DDI) management platforms.
•Minimum 5 years of experience in large international enterprise networks.
•Minimum 5 years of experience working in a large server environment, writing scripts for automation, managing system accounts as authorized, Sybase certifications, Unix/Linux certifications.
•Network certifications a plus.
•Understand and query via SQL the DNS DB. Understand the DNS DB schema.
•Use of scripting to enable automation (repetitive/time consuming/error reduction) and innovative solutions for system and DNS and DHCP infrastructure tasks.
•Perform technical tasks associated with DHCP or DNS migrations.
•Create DNS domain and DHCP scope exports.
•Configure DNS forwarding for domains.
•Coordinate DNS and DHCP services on Windows servers.
•Have a referential and applicable knowledge of all relevant RFCs that relate to DNS, DHCP and IPv6.
•Have an understanding of the industry direction with regards to the next version of BIND, DNSSEC (DNS Security), IPv6, other services that wrapper DNS.
•Have a complete understanding of DNS and DHCP internals.
•Have knowledge of DNS and DHCP tools and utilities.
•Have knowledge of troubleshooting, debugging, packet snooping and log analysis.
•Have knowledge of active directory DNS and DHCP service resource records ("SRV") records.
•Have experience with scripting environments such as Bourne Shell, Perl, etc. to perform the following:
•Gather object level information from QIP.
•Evaluate audit logs.
•Calculate DHCP subnet usage.
•Identify admin activity.
•Automate multi stepped changes.
