DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
The Senior Engineering Technical Analyst II utilizes advanced knowledge to perform high-level complex technical, analytical and/or administrative tasks related to multiple systems or programs requiring the independent evaluation and coordination of complex systems, designs, methods and techniques. The Senior Engineering Technical Analyst II is responsible for major modification of existing operations, equipment, procedures, and/or the development and implementation of new methods. He/she makes decisions and exercises technical judgment within the scope of the system or project and makes final recommendations related to complete projects or multi-discipline problems. The Senior Engineering Technical Analyst II may have supervisory responsibility for non-exempt and/or exempt employees and contractors.
JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will need to have a broad range of experience in electrical, mechanical and I&C disciplines to allow him/her to perform startup, testing, troubleshooting, some commissioning and engineering and associated coordination in support of activities pertaining to project construction and turnover to the generating plant/compression site. Coordination between all disciplines of engineering, project management, contractors and equipment suppliers will be required when conducting tests of low and medium voltage equipment and controls (i.e. switch gear, megger, CT testing, PT testing, etc.), digital, solid state electrical/I&C equipment, DCS/PLCs and mechanical and piping systems. These projects are focused at system upgrades, various machinery health and condition monitoring projects aimed at improving plant productivity and reliability. Activities include, but are not limited to; performing and overseeing the preparation of test packages, performing electrical checkout, instrument calibration & testing verification records, I/O checkout & functional testing; factory acceptance testing ( FAT ); pump/compressor alignment and lubrication records; commissioning and turnover; piping hydro/pressure test packages; etc..
Work in the project area will require close coordination with Project Managers, construction managers, outage managers, other EPM personnel, generating plant and compressor engineers, generating plant and compressor operations, other CEC electrical services departments, A/E's, contractors and vendor representatives. The successful candidate will provide leadership and supervision to contractors.
Work in the maintenance area will require close coordination with plant maintenance supervisors, plant outage managers, other EPM section personnel, other CEC electrical services departments, vendor representatives and factory/repair facility personnel.
This position will report to the EPM Startup & Testing Lead-East and work on the electrical, I&C and mechanical portions of project testing and startup. This position will be based at the Karn Generation Complex near Bay City, MI.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICIATIONS
•Engineering Technical Analysts typically require a Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical field with 2 or more years of exempt experience in the specific field or an Associate's Degree in a scientific/technical field with 5-7years experience in the specified field.

•Experience in heavy industrial, gas compression or a power plant setting with experience in medium/low voltage switchgear & control systems, process measurement instrumentation, DCS and PLCs, pumps, compressors and piping systems is a plus.
