Busy Lapeer manufacturing company is seeking experienced MIG WELDERS/FABRICATORS.
WELDER II:
3-5 YRS EXPERIENCE - Develop and implement weld processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All of Welder I duties plus the following.
- I.G / T.I.G. welding as required.
- Read & interpret blueprints.
- Set up metal fabricating equipment as required.
- Performs metal fabricating duties; {ensuring traceable & correct material is being used, selecting appropriate welding equipment & wire}.
- Monitors equipment and performs routine maintenance as needed.
- Weld only to specifications that you have been qualified / certified to weld.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Terms and definitions, blueprint reading, weld symbols, machine set-up and maintenance for consumables that are being utilized.
- Adjustments of machines are performed without assistance.
- Knowledge and motor skills are used under moderate supervision.
WELDER III
5-10 YRS EXPERIENCE - Advanced Welder
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All of Welder I and Welder II duties plus the following.
- Performs metal fabricating duties using welding machines and QC tools; {ensuring traceable & correct material is being used, selecting appropriate welding equipment & wire, selecting appropriate hand working materials, assembles sheet metal materials}.
- Operates metal fabricating equipment daily according to engineering/customer specifications and requirements.
- Trains and directs lower level personnel in the operation and use of welding equipment and related tasks.
- Applies knowledge of assembly to perform sheet metal fabrication.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Considered to possess knowledge, attitude, skills, and habits to perform (procedure) tasks independently; including selection and use of appropriate techniques and equipment. Applies theoretical knowledge and motor skills with minimal supervision.
