Champion Bus, Inc., was founded in 1953 and located on 73 acres just outside Imlay City, Michigan. Champion is one of the pioneers of the mid-size commercial bus industry and began producing these buses in 1981. In 2012, Champion Bus acquired Federal Coach, and began producing a luxury line of buses. In October 2013, Champion was acquired by and joined the REV Group family.

The Supply Chain Manager will oversee our Purchasing Department, Material Handlers, and Shipping and Receiving departments. This essential function will maintain production flow by providing the necessary and essential components to build our Buses. Responsibilities
•Maintain optimum inventory levels and ensure on-time delivery of materials to meet customer requirements while minimizing working capital and premium transportation costs.
•Work closely with Sales and Marketing, and Engineering on product planning to ensure production timing is optimized to satisfy customer demands while maintaining the expected production efficiencies, quality and cost targets.
•Support the aftermarket/service department as it relates to materials to ensure customer satisfaction after the sale.
•Oversee and ensure proper production control planning and scheduling programs to meet sales forecasts and to balance the level of manpower requirements.
•Manage the distribution of all finished goods to support customer requirements (requires effective communications with customers, body builders and transportation companies regarding the status of vehicle delivery).
•Oversee the procurement of materials for production and facilities, including coordination with corporate purchasing to ensure optimization of the supply chain.
•Interface with suppliers and corporate quality and material planning to resolve supplier quality and delivery problems.
•Manage the shipping, receiving, and stock replenishment functions of the company and oversee the storage and presentation of materials (including 3rd party logistics companies).
•Ensure inbound logistics activities are optimized for efficient and cost effective delivery of materials.
•Develop processes and reporting systems as they relate to the materials/logistics department functions.
•Knowledgeable in Lean Processes and Implementation (lead, direct and coordinate all activities related to the materials/logistics department).
•Ensure ISO compliance
•Develop supervisor and team leader management skills.Qualifications
•BS/BA required and a minimum of five years’ experience in purchasing/material handling/warehousing/logistics, including two years supervisory/project lead experience.
•Familiarization with materials management information systems and budgets.
•Ability to plan and assign work, instruct in methods and procedures, check and approve work, handle complaints, and provide work guidance for employees in remote areas.
