The Senior Buyer C – Chassis is responsible for sourcing activities supporting various commodities and assembly modules including cradles, crossmembers and skid plates. The purchasing responsibilities include supplier negotiations, sourcing on time and to target, driving annual cost savings activities and development and implementation of global commodity strategies, interacting with, aligning and building relationships with global counterparts. The Senior Buyer will lead the resolution and negotiation of commercial issues. The Buyer will also interact with many cross-functional teams such as engineering, supply chain management, and finance. This is an ideal role for someone looking to build upon negotiating skills and to expand business discipline through managing a significant annual spend.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or closely related field
•Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in purchasing or other disciplines that require significant negotiation and/or exposure to sourcing processes; experience may include related internship experience.
•Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
•Well organized, self-motivated, and resourceful managing complex situations
•Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and can effectively interface with cross functional teams and all levels of senior management
•Strong communication and commodity leadership skills
•Excellent analytical and presentation skills
•Must be proficient using Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree
•Automotive related experience and strong interest in the automotive industry
