This position is responsible for initiating and performing defined technical activities such as performing studies and tests which support engineering. Will assist in technical projects to improve products, processes or technologies on a project basis.
1. In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
2. Develop, initiate and complete technical activities such as testing that lead to new or improved products or processes.
3. Work with production and other departments during new product introduction and troubleshooting failure modes for existing products.
4. Provide technical assistance to product and process development and engineering as required.
5. Conduct efficiency studies on various projects and provide recommendations.
6. Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria in accordance with site procedures.
7. Document experimental data/observations in technical notebooks (or approved electronic files), prepare reports, and make oral presentations.
8. Building, testing, integration, and debugging of electronic test fixtures, electronic loads, switch boxes, break out boxes, and wiring harnesses.
9. Assembling and modifying surface mount and through-hole circuit boards and prototype boards.
10. Compiling materials lists from project schematics and the ordering of parts and supplies for upcoming builds.
11. Collaborating with engineers to plan, design and build customer prototype test systems.
12. Modifying enclosures and mounting of components as part of project builds.
13. Performing routine maintenance, repairs, debugging, and troubleshooting of custom test fixtures.
14. Assisting in the testing and validation of fixtures.
15. Performing electrical, mechanical and environmental testing per specifications on test equipment to meet requirements of the equipment management and Non-Product Software requirements.
16. Performing failure analysis of test failures leading to a root cause analysis of such failures.
17. Willingness to support production during regular and occasionally non-regular hours.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
