POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible to provide support to assigned categories to include a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall success of the category management team. These tasks include interacting on a daily basis with the category manager, pricing maintenance, and assisting with the promotional plans process.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
DEGREES
High School Diploma (Required)
or equivalent, Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
JOB EXPERIENCE
One year retail, merchandising, or related experience preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible to enter and maintain accurate information in applicable system(s) (i.e. EIS, CTHQ, Insite, Proof Express, Promotions Manager, C3, Demandtech, etc.) related to promotions, costs, new and discontinued items, etc. Work with internal department(s) (i.e. Pricing, Retail IT, Shelf Technology, Inventory Management, etc.) to reconcile items not on file, pricing errors, cost discrepancies, etc. to ensure data integrity and support category profitability.
Process promotional plans for the marketing department on a timely basis; proof and load ad offers, verify accuracy of promotional contracts and allowances, proof and release pre-sells, etc.; work with internal departments or external vendors as needed to resolve contract issues, discrepancies, etc.
Provide assistance to stores, customers, vendors and/or distribution centers regarding questions and inquires; facilitate resolution(s) with external resources and/or cross functional departments as needed.
Work with Accounting department and vendors to ensure the timeliness of payables and receivables for assigned categories; create request for billings (RFB) for charge or credits to vendors as needed.
Assist in compiling data for assigned categories during the category review process to support category management team.
Compile data and/or conduct research for inclusion in reports to support Category Manager(s) for assigned categories.
Create and maintain vendor directory for assigned categories.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ABILITIES
Good written and verbal communication skills. Must have good organizational, prioritization, problem solving and attention to detail skills. Ability to be a self starter. Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. Knowledge of category management practices helpful.

The associate is frequently required to sit/stand/walk. May be required to travel.
