Systems Technology Group (STG) has immediate opening for Telematics Validation Engineer for our direct automotive client in Auburn Hills, MI. Duration (3+ months).
Travel Requirements: Will be required to drive a company car. Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record. Will be required to travel domestically up to 20%.
Primary Responsibilities:
Works with external/internal groups/suppliers to produce the development plan of the various components within the complete System for the features assigned to them. They then work with these same teams to coordinate the development completion and manage defects through the qualification cycles to ensure a high-quality service for launch.

- Owns the development schedule with the suppliers (Harman, Sprint Panasonic, SiriusXM, ICT, Others).
- Owns the Defect management process for their features including all the various defect management systems.
- Responsible for Unit testing of Applications/Feature and a qualification readiness status prior to every qualification event.
- Responsible for Unit testing of applications as they are released to us from the supplier.
- Participates in feature release meetings and represents feature.
- Participates in feature defect management meetings and War rooms.
- Owns the investigation of operational issues post launch and continuous improvements
- Creates and delivers Management Status Reports throughout product development and operations lifecycle.
- Monitoring and reporting of customer issues, feedback and complaints to ensure quality improvements are migrated to the production solutions.
- Evaluating test results and QA processes to mitigate risks that could impact the customer experience.
- Ensures defects are managed and closed for launch to meet quality targets.
- Unit tests features prior to qualification events.
- Investigates and providing solutions for operational issues and continuous improvement.
Required Skills/Experience:
- 3+ Years of current continuous Automotive Electrical and/or Connectivity experience including:
- 1 year in automotive electrical development and design.
- 1 year in telematics connectivity.
- Technical skills include: Vehicle CAN Bus tools, Logging tools, Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Technically astute in automotive based electronics hardware, software & quality systems, mobile handset and server based electronics hardware & software.
- Ability to understand feature specifications, functional and timing requirements and plan test scenarios.
- Experience in feature development, testing and validation.
- Experience in defect/issue defect resolution and management.
- Excellent Organization & Communication Skills with sound decision making.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects and tasks.
- Fast Learner, Clear, concise, precise communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to discern what issues need management escalation and when.
- Ability to lead piers and suppliers to achieve goals.
- Pleasantly aggressive personality, self-motivated, organized.
- Comfortable when working in a loosely defined role.
- Passion for telematics and internet / Smart Phone based applications.
Preferred requirements:
- Automated testing definition experience.
- Master of Science in Electrical, computer, information technology or equivalent.
Required Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
- Master of Science in Electrical, computer, information technology or equivalent (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license required as well as a clean driving record
