Position Overview:
TechSmith develops industry-leading software products that help people capture information and present it back in exciting and creative ways. As an Information Technology Specialist Intern, you will work in our Information Technology department to ensure that TechSmith employees and IT services are operating at peak performance. You will regularly collaborate with others from IT and across TechSmith to maintain the desktop computing environments as well as implementing new and innovative solutions to address the needs of a high-tech organization.
Responsibilities:
- Helping support a large multi-site network including hundreds of servers, computers, phones, and peripherals
- Ensuring positive relationship and good communication between TechSmith employees and the IT Service Desk team
- Helping with ticket triage to other support requests
- Responding to and Executing on internal help tickets and requests
- Configuring and Supporting internal client machines
- Implementing and training users on the use of systems and software
- Documenting IT systems and processes
- Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of systems, services, and applications for the operations of the IT infrastructure
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Background:
- Windows and Mac operating system experience
- Effective communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Ability to learn modern technologies, and teach others on the material
- Ability to triage and troubleshoot end user issues and requests
- Basic understanding of network connectivity and concepts
- Requires a minimum of 15 hours per week, maximum of 28 hours per week
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- You must be enrolled full-time in classes to be considered for an internship with TechSmith Corporation
Preferred Skills and Background:
- MCP or equivalent certifications
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Experience with Windows infrastructure components (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and others)
- Experience with Linux and open source technologies
- Experience with scripting and automating processes
Compensation and Perks:
Competitive pay based on skills and experience. This is an hourly position with TechSmith Corporation. Hours are based on a consensus between you and your supervisor. We require a minimum of 15 hours per week, however hours are limited to 28 hours per week.
