Job Description

SUMMARY To perform a variety of tasks which assist the physical therapist in rendering treatment to patients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares patients equipment for physical therapy, assists in rendering treatments and performs certain assigned tasks to assist in maintaining clinic in an orderly condition. Applies the use of heat, cold, light, water, sound, and other modalities as directed; and, provides massage and soft tissue mobilization techniques as prescribed and written in the treatment plan. Assists physical therapists and physical therapist assistants under direct supervision with patients for proper exercise and gait techniques. Observes and reports to the attending PT or PTA the progress of and significant responses of assigned patients. Participates in maintaining a clean, safe, organized clinic, including cleaning and maintenance of equipment and notifying supervisors when supplies are low. Other duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE High school diploma or equivalent is required One year experience as physical therapy aide is preferred. Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred.

Additional Requirements

Must be customer service oriented and be able to relate to patients.
