Summary: Responsible for using equipment and chemicals to clean products and instruments and boxing/packaging parts according to procedure.
Duties and Responsibilities for Cleaning & Packaging Technician include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Sets up (mixing soaps and chemicals) and unloads equipment such as ultrasonic tanks, and cleans medical devices to meet rigid specifications.
2. Uses chemicals such as soaps and nitric acid to clean products.
3. Must have the ability to follow verbal orders or written procedures.
4. Prepares goods for sterilization.
5. Responsible
for production paperwork and inspection procedures.
6. Reports any discrepancies (for correction) or damage to appropriate personnel for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes.
7. Maintains tools, equipment and area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
8. Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
9. Uses computer to create labels for packaging with accuracy.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Some college or technical training preferred. Prior work related experience helpful.

The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate, but may increase based on equipment usage. Ear protection is provided for use.
Eye protection required at times. (Prescription Safety Glasses may
be necessary for the employee to provide for one's self).
Sterile attire such as Sterile Gloves (non Latex), hairnets, surgical masks, and full body gowns may be worn.
