Coherent | Rofin Field Service Engineers travel extensively across North America to customer sites, providing on-site technical service, maintenance, installation and training services on Coherent | Rofin products.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Install, service and repair the Coherent | Rofin line of products in field installations and consult with customers on the integration, maintenance and use of our products
• Construct and test circuits and equipment utilizing various tools and suitable test equipment
•Consult with internal product support and engineering personnel to determine solutions to unusual problems in product operation and maintenance. Perform field testing and data collection in the course of product improvement.
• Implement product upgrades, including software conversions, and design modifications, including installation support for the modifications
• Perform moderately complex maintenance service and repair where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations
• Report customer use of third party maintenance.
• Work with product support, engineering and spare parts sales to continuously improve product quality
• Special projects and other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Associates degree in electronics or related technical field OR a minimum of two (2) years electro-mechanical maintenance/repair experience
• Previous experience with electronic troubleshooting
Desired Qualifications
• Previous experience working on a manufacturing floor in a service role
• Previous experience working with various versions of windows operating systems
• Previous experience with mechanical components, such as hydraulics and pneumatics, and with optics troubleshooting
• Experience working with Microsoft Office products, including email and internet at a proficient level
• Proven ability to self-direct and take initiative to search out information and assistance as needed to resolve issues
• Previous high-pressure customer service experience including quickly establishing professional working relationships and communicating effectively with customers
