The function of the Intern is to perform entry level engineering tasks in support of the Application Engineers and Engineering Supervisory personnel.The technical responsibility of the Intern is to support the engineering group by assisting in areas such as: product verification and validation, product analysis and testing. This will involve the generation of technical information such as laboratory test results, field return analysis and set up of required tests. Demonstrate courteous, responsive, and professional behavior toward suppliers, external and internal customers to meet and exceed their requirements. The commercial responsibility also involves writing of reports and generation of presentation slides and information. Support engineering activities by performing tasks such as: Writing of test requests and test reports; Pre and Post test analysis of parts and specimens; Set up of test machines; Field return analysis and reports; Assist technical analysts in conducting various routine tasks including: collecting required data for conducting analysis, construction of analysis input data files based on the collected data, conduct analysis and sensitivity study upon analyst request and prepare the analysis results for presentation report generation purposes. Participate in technical communication and discussion on analysis results to put his/her engineering knowledge into practice. Procure test parts and organize tests as required. Examine components after test, analyze and report test results. Lead and/or participate in presentation of results, internally and to customers as required. Organize a variety of work assignments, and determine most efficient process to complete each project. Each employee has the authority to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities relating to the product, process and quality system and has the authority to stop further work on non-conforming suspect product until the deficiency or conditions have been corrected. Provided support as requested by supervisor. REQUIREMENTS:
Must be enrolled in a B.S. degree program in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Material or Polymer Science.
