DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Details:
The Allen Park Test Laboratory Engineering activity is looking for a detail oriented, self starter to join our team. The prospective candidate will be responsible for all testing related emissions related testing requirements, including data quality, throughput and customer satisfaction.
The position duties will include:
* Project Management
* Lead cross-functional teams in the design, deployment and start-up for chassis emissions test facilities
* Delivery of quality, timing and financial objectives of a project
* Process driven approach, capable of managing complex installations which will require detailed design work
* Lead implementation of Global Emissions requirements specific to PEMS (Portable Emissions Measurement System)
* Test Engineering as it pertains to:
* Lab implementation of PEMS (Portable Emissions Measurement Sys)
* Troubleshooting support for site maintenance, site technicians and operators
* Identifying and implementing operational quality and efficiency opportunities
* Support of power-train development assisting in detailed data analysis and test validation
* Process development / optimization for evaporative & tailpipe emissions testing
* Test method development
* Support power-train emissions development, U.S. Certification (EPA/CARB), Global WLTP (Worldwide Light-duty Test Procedure) & China 6 Homologation
* Address core customer testing issues and drive root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence and ensure permanent resolution
* Support the development of new equipment / test methodologies required to meet new emissions and fuel economy requirements
* Delivery of financial objectives of the department(s) and the team
* Ability to work a flexible schedule
