Job Description:
The employee in this position is responsible for a variety of tasks which are essential to providing continuous service to hospitals on a 24 hour basis, seven days per week. Act in the role of Hospital Service Representative when the conditions are appropriate and must be capable of carrying out these responsibilities with manual and automated equipment. Hospital Service Drivers may seek information and some direction from Order Processing Specialist. In compliance with all FDA and American Red Cross standards and policies is responsible for all aspects of the distribution process, including order entry, processing, and delivery of blood products to the hospital customer. Maintains orderliness of storage units to include rotation of stock inventory. Maintains a high level of service to hospital customers 7 days per week, 24 hours per day.
Major ResponsibilitiesSelects ("pulls") blood orders per the "picking" ticket. Assist in the oversight of transportation of blood products to customers to ensure timely and complete delivery and pick-up. Including processing returns, temperature review, component reconciliation, and management of blood inventory. Manage the temperature monitoring system in the absence of supervision to ensure product safety. May accompany the Account Manager on hospital visits as a representative of the department. Manage customer service-related problems in the absence of supervision and participate in manufacturing process improvement teams.
Qualifications High school diploma required. Experience carrying out responsibilities via automated equipment preferred.Capable of working under pressure.Excellent customer service and people skills required.Excellent written and oral communication (fast learner)Must be able to work any shift, seven days per week.Must be computer literate. This position requires weekend availability. Start rate of pay $15.84/hr
Schedule- Variable (flexibility is required) 20-25 hours per week.
