What You'll Do
In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.
We are seeking a highly motivated Digital Twin Engineering Apps intern to support engineering and PLM process validation through test execution, defect analysis, automation, and reporting. The role provides hands-on exposure to CAD, PLM, MBSE, simulation, 3D visualization, Digital Twin creation, and AI-assisted validation while building practical experience in enterprise systems, process analysis, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional project delivery.
Job Duties:
Testing & Validation:
Validate technical and business process flows for system behavior, data accuracy, business rules, integrations, and digital continuity.
Support functional, integration, regression, and UAT test cases for PLM, CAD integration, BOM, ECO/CO, MBSE, simulation, and 3D visualization.
Prepare reusable test data for CAD files, part structures, BOM attributes, change objects, lifecycle states, simulation inputs, MBSE artifacts, and visualization scenarios.
Defects & Evidence:
Capture clear test evidence, observations, results, and defect details to support timely review and resolution.
Assist with defect reproduction, fix validation, regression testing, and closure confirmation.
PLM Domain Support:
Validate PLM concepts including MBSE, simulation data, requirements traceability, product structure, change management, and 3D visualization use cases.
Automation, AI & Reporting:
Develop lightweight automation scripts using Python, JavaScript, SQL, TCL, or similar tools to reduce manual effort in validation, data comparison, regression testing, and technical process checks.
Support automated reporting for test execution status, defect trends, validation exceptions, process gaps, and readiness indicators to improve project visibility.
Use AI-assisted methods to summarize requirements, draft validation steps, identify coverage gaps, detect defect patterns, and improve documentation.
Analysis & Collaboration:
Participate in design walkthroughs, testing reviews, defect triage discussions, and stakeholder updates to clarify expected behavior, communicate findings clearly, and support timely issue resolution.
Analyze test results, defect trends, validation exceptions, and process observations to identify recurring patterns, root cause indicators, improvement opportunities, and readiness risks.
Prepare concise written summaries, dashboards, and status communications that translate technical findings into clear insights for IT, engineering, business, and project stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
Exposure to Python, JavaScript, Java, SQL, TCL, or similar tools for automation, validation, and reporting.
Basic understanding of databases, APIs, integrations, metadata, logs, and data flows.
Basic testing knowledge, including functional, integration, regression, UAT, defect tracking, and documentation.
Exposure to CAD, PLM, PDM, BOM, engineering change, lifecycle, MBSE, simulation, or 3D visualization concepts.
Interest in reusable scripts, test utilities, validation reports, and data comparison tools.
