Position Details
Bronson Methodist Hospital has multiple full time CT Technologist openings (72 hours per pay period):

9-hour day shifts, variable

Position Summary
The CT Technologist performs a full range of duties to assist radiologists during invasive and non-invasive radiographic scans and completes a diverse range of diagnostic radiology work across various patient populations. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

Registered ARRT (R) upon hire, with ARRT CT certification required within 15 months
-
Advanced CT certification must be attempted by 12 months and completed no later than 15 months
-
Successful completion of hospital, core, and department orientation
-
BLS certification required within 6 months of hire
-
Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, problem solving, and assertiveness
-
Customer service orientation

Ability to work independently, demonstrate leadership, and take initiative

Ability to operate basic computer programs used for departmental record keeping
Physical and Mental Requirements

High levels of mental and visual concentration

Frequent standing and walking

Regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and assisting with heavier patient-related tasks

Occasional straining or fatiguing positions
Key Responsibilities
-
Escort patients to exam areas, review patient information, and explain procedures
-
Prepare and calibrate equipment for scheduled procedures
-
Assist radiologists during special studies such as angiograms and vena cavagrams
-
Perform CT scans on all body parts as ordered
-
Operate sophisticated electronic equipment while monitoring patient vital signs and anticipating physician needs
-
Administer or assist with contrast media under radiologist direction
-
Work in other radiology sections as needed
-
Perform exams in Radiology or other hospital areas based on patient or physician needs
-
Maintain equipment, perform quality control, and report malfunctions
-
Provide first aid and assist during adverse reactions or emergencies
-
Maintain sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination
-
Maintain cleanliness of procedure rooms and equipment
-
Document patient and file information accurately
-
Maintain appropriate supply levels
-
Provide or oversee on-the-job training for students and assistants
