Pay:
$25.00 per hour
Employees are paid for appointment time and travel time to and from patient homes, with a 2-hour minimum paid per assignment/visit. Mileage is reimbursed at the applicable IRS standard mileage rate.
Hours of Work:
Per diem / flexible schedule. Hours vary based on patient referrals, geographic availability, and program needs. There is no minimum number of monthly visits required. IQVIA coordinates patient scheduling and communication.
Position Summary
IQVIA is seeking an experienced Mobile Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to provide diagnostic and clinical services to patients in their homes throughout the Detroit-area territory.
The Mobile Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist travels to assigned patient residences and performs services including blood specimen collection, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and other approved health screenings. This position is ideal for an experienced healthcare professional who is comfortable working independently, traveling locally, and providing patient-focused care in a mobile environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Travel to patient homes throughout the assigned geographic territory.

Perform blood draws and collect appropriate blood specimens.

Properly label, handle, store, and transport specimens according to laboratory and regulatory requirements.

Follow all bloodborne pathogen, laboratory safety, infection-control, and specimen-handling procedures.

Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other approved diagnostic screenings after completing required training.

Conduct macular edema screening examinations when trained and assigned.

Verify patient information and ensure accurate completion of required documentation.

Maintain clinical equipment, supplies, and mobile work materials in a clean and organized manner.

Monitor inventory and maintain adequate clinical supplies.

Coordinate with IQVIA’s clinical coordination team regarding scheduled visits and documentation.

Complete and submit required visit documentation accurately and within established timeframes.

Identify and report adverse events, product complaints, and patient inquiries according to IQVIA and manufacturer procedures.

Maintain accurate records of mileage, travel time, and visit time.

Provide professional and compassionate service while interacting with patients in their homes.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical, laboratory, healthcare, or field-based setting.

Valid driver’s license.

Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 100 miles for patient visits.

Ability to lift and transport up to 70 pounds of medical or diagnostic equipment.

Ability to properly operate medical and diagnostic equipment.

Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently in patients’ homes.

Fluency in spoken and written English.

Successful completion of required background check and drug screening following acceptance of an employment offer.
Preferred Qualifications

At least 1 year of EKG experience.

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.

Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.

Previous experience providing mobile, home-based, or field-based healthcare services.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Because this is a mobile position, employees must be able to safely transport themselves, clinical supplies, specimens, and assigned diagnostic equipment between patient locations.
IQVIA manages patient scheduling and communication. Assignments are offered based on geographic availability and program demand.
Compensation and Travel
Base Pay: $25.00 per hour
Paid time includes eligible patient appointment time and travel time to and from patient homes. A two-hour minimum payment applies as described by IQVIA. Eligible mileage is reimbursed using the applicable IRS standard mileage rate.
