Design & Release Engineer - Closures & Latching Systems

Ready to help develop the next generation of automotive closure systems? We are seeking a Design & Release Engineer with experience in mechanical systems, product development, and automotive components to support the design, validation, release, and launch of vehicle handles, locks, latches, hinges, and closure mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, validation, and release of vehicle closure and latching components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, manufacturing, and quality groups to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Create, review, and manage CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and product releases.
Conduct design reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities to improve quality and performance.
Support prototype builds, product testing, supplier readiness, PPAP activities, and production launches.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, durability, manufacturability, cost, and weight reduction.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field required.
Minimum 2+ years of engineering experience in automotive, heavy equipment, aerospace, industrial machinery, seat systems, closures, latching mechanisms, or similar mechanical product development.
Experience with CAD software such as CATIA, Teamcenter, 3DX, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, root cause analysis, and product validation processes.
Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Ability to travel occasionally to suppliers, testing facilities, and manufacturing locations.
