| Summary of Position: | The College of Business at Ferris State University seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants for a full-time, academic-year, tenure-track Assistant Professor - Sales and Marketing position. Teaching various undergraduate courses in sales-related courses (e.g., Professional Selling, Sales Management, and Advanced Selling). Teaching may include undergraduate and graduate courses. The candidate will help develop and improve curriculum and delivery, assess student learning, and contribute to service work, including student engagement activities and committees, and will engage in scholarly activities and professional development aligned with current and emerging programmatic needs. The candidate will help grow and expand the sales program. Faculty members have professional responsibilities, including advising students, serving on committees, maintaining regularly posted office hours, engaging in professional development, and participating in traditional functions of academic significance. Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students; faculty are expected to be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. Additionally, faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to advance curricular initiatives, assess student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancements. Specifically, we expect the candidate to be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role. In support of teaching, candidates will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus and/or online. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is January 2027 at the earliest and August 2027 at the latest. The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire without employer assistance or sponsorship now or in the future. | Required Work Experience: | Business-to-business sales experience is required.
Candidates with experience teaching in a classroom setting and the ability to employ multiple teaching modalities, such as face-to-face, online, and blended strategies, to enhance student engagement and understanding are highly desirable.
Candidates must be committed to continuous improvement in teaching and active participation in scholarly and professional development activities to adapt to changing industry needs.
Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills and personal initiative while working both independently and collaboratively. | |
