EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field or college level coursework or equivalent combination of education/experience and experience in analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and documenting production systems.
EXPERIENCE
• Analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and documenting production systems in the IBM iSeries (AS/400) environment;
• Familiar with Synon, Synon/2, COOL:2E required;
• 5+ years designing and developing high performance web application systems and web services;
• Developing reports in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) a plus;
• 2+ years using Agile development practices such as Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and pair programming (or desire to work in a pairing environment).
KNOWLEDGE
• Agile software development life cycle methodologies and best practices;
• IBM iSeries (AS/400) commands and control language;
• COBOL/400 and development toolset knowledge required;
• COOL 2E (Synon) required;
• .Net, C#, Entity Framework or other ORM;
• LINQ, jQuery;
• Team Foundation Server, Git, or other source control platform.

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
• Facilitate working meetings, elicit and solicit information, and absorb the information being communicated; facilitate a shared understanding of the problem, possible solutions, and scope of the project in its entirety; facilitate solutions to technical challenges among multiple teams when they involve negotiation between multiple business and technical stakeholders;
• Apply critical thinking skills to determine the appropriateness of requests, with periodic reviews of business procedures to clarify or change a business process. Use the knowledge gained in the daily operational procedures as input to business process and procedure documentation;
• Prioritize across multiple tasks in a fast paced environment;
• Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
