The University of Michigan School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in the School of Dentistry with a pathway to an administrative role as Director of the Integrated Special Care Clinic (ISCC) in Patient Services. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with candidate's qualifications and experience, with academic department placement determined by disciplinary alignment and institutional fit.
We are seeking individuals with demonstrated excellence in clinical and didactic teaching, process improvement, and research experience, specifically in the field of Special Care Dentistry. The successful individual will also be able to demonstrate clinical proficiency in general dentistry and support dental and dental hygiene education. Evidence of interprofessional collaboration across disciplines and in the area of Special Care Dentistry is required. The applicant's previous experiences will emphasize a strong commitment to service and community-based dentistry.
A DDS/DMD degree is required. The ability to obtain unrestricted licensure in the State of Michigan is considered advantageous. Advanced training in a hospital setting caring for patients with special healthcare needs (SHCNs) and medical complexity is required, which may include dental oncology, oral medicine, pediatric dentistry, special care, and/or geriatric dentistry. Prior experience with hospital dentistry, teledentistry, teaching at the predoctoral and postgraduate levels, as well as providing direct patient care in a hospital-based or similar setting, is desirable.
