Bronson is seeking skilled Cardiovascular Sonographers to join our growing heart and vascular team. In this role, you’ll perform high-quality echocardiographic studies that help physicians diagnose and treat cardiac and vascular conditions. You’ll work in a supportive, patient-centered environment where your expertise directly impacts patient outcomes.
About the Role
Under general supervision and following established protocols, the Cardiovascular Sonographer performs:

Two-dimensional echocardiograms
-
Doppler flow analysis
-
Transesophageal, stress, and transthoracic echocardiograms

Studies on patients of all ages, in both critical and non-critical settings
You’ll use advanced imaging technology, clinical judgment, and strong patient-care skills to support accurate diagnosis of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.
Minimum Education & Credentials
-
College-level coursework in Echocardiography with extensive anatomy and pathology training
-
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Echocardiography preferred
-
RDCS, RVT, or CCI registry required (registry-eligible candidates must obtain certification within 1 year)

BLS certification required upon hire or within 6 months

Basic PC skills required for clinical databases and office software

Ability to maintain concentration during detailed, repetitive tasks (40–70% computer use)
Physical Requirements

Regular lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional assistance with heavier tasks

Frequent pushing, pulling, and handling of equipment and patients

Ability to stand, walk, and perform fine motor tasks throughout the shift
Key Clinical Responsibilities
-
Perform high-quality echocardiograms (TTE, TEE, stress echo)
-
Verify that ordered procedures align with patient history and symptoms
-
Recognize abnormalities and obtain additional diagnostic images as needed

Follow all laboratory protocols and document exceptions
-
Insert and manage IV lines per approved techniques
-
Prepare and administer ultrasound-enhancing agents
-
Maintain sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination
-
Travel between facilities as needed
Patient Interaction & Preparation
-
Explain procedures clearly and answer patient questions
-
Gather relevant clinical information from the patient and medical record
-
Position transducers and adjust equipment to obtain optimal images
-
Differentiate artifacts from true anatomical/pathological findings
-
Monitor patient condition and report urgent findings immediately
Diagnostic Measurement & Documentation
-
Measure cardiac wall thickness, chamber sizes, and blood flow velocities
-
Calculate valve areas and cardiac physiology metrics per protocol
-
Document and transmit diagnostic data into digital archive systems

Recognize and escalate critical findings promptly
Safety, Maintenance & Professional Development
-
Maintain a safe work environment and follow equipment operation standards

Complete echo-specific continuing education to meet IAC accreditation requirements
-
Participate in QA processes and assist with accreditation data collection

Maintain knowledge of vascular disease
-
Perform minor preventive maintenance and ensure labs are clean and stocked
BMH-Specific Requirement
Sonographers cross-training in adult and pediatric echo must achieve pediatric competency within 6 months of beginning training. Competency is determined by the CVS Technical Director.
