SCOPE OF POSITION:
Responsible for providing objective administration of Team Member benefit and wellness programs in accordance with the company's policies, procedures and practices focusing on sensitivity, and responsiveness to the Team Member.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.
Assists and schedules Team Members enrolling for benefits before the orientation period is completed and during open enrollment.
Inputs Team Member insurance information into HRIS and Insurance carrier's systems.
Ensures that terminated Team Members are removed from our Insurance carrier's systems and answers COBRA insurance as needed.
Coordinates and informs Team Members, by mail and any other means necessary when they don't meet the required number of hours to meet full time employment status in order to qualify for company specific benefits.
Assists with questions and coordinates paperwork processing in regard to Tribal specific Leave Programs such as jury duty, sick time off, bereavement, etc.
Administration of the electronic callout system to confirm departmental callouts which may include accepting doctor notes and processing return to work notices for Team Members.
Organizes and motivates Team Members to participate in company wellness initiatives like the Corporate Cup, walking clubs and other related community events.
Assists Team Members with questions about their benefits and assists with changes to their benefits during qualifying events.
Coordinates and evaluates Team Member wellness program directed toward reducing health risks and improving health status.
Develops and maintains links with community providers of wellness services and coordinates delivery of services to Team Members.
Assists in coordinating health fairs, health screenings and various health-related workshops.
Develops promotion and publicity plans for the wellness program throughout the property.
Compiles statistical summaries of participant and wellness champion activity data, class attendance and equipment inventories to ensure proper detailed program evaluation.
Prepares releases and articles on health topics and develops information for newsletters and other publications.
Coordinates offering of educational health presentations and training programs.
Produces reports from HRIS to validate enrollments, troubleshoot issues and audit billing statements.
Maintains and audits benefits files to ensure accuracy and appropriate document retention per company policies.
Completes employment verification requests in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws related to Human Resources.
Participates as a Team Member within the Human Resources Department working in unison with other Human Resources Team Members in order to ensure an efficiently organized and operated department.
Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
An applicant's education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are generally representative of the education, experience, and skills and/or abilities required to enable one to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities:
Three years' combination of education and benefits experience. Prior experience with a HRIS system as well as the development and/or administration of wellness programs. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be at least 21 years of age

Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is required.
GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two-year degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Health Administration or related field with three years progressive experience in Human Resources. Prior experience with Kronos.
