Clinical Dietitian – Full Time | Diabetes Education | Portage & Battle Creek
Bronson Battle Creek and Bronson Methodist Hospital are seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our Diabetes Education team. In this role, you’ll provide evidence-based, patient-centered nutrition care, support diabetes education, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve health outcomes across our community.
About the Role
As a Clinical Dietitian, you will assess nutrition needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress using current research and best practices. You’ll work closely with patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team to support positive outcomes and provide education in both individual and group settings. This role requires strong prioritization, organization, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Practice

Use nutrition screening criteria and medical record review to identify patients at nutritional risk across inpatient, clinic, and outpatient settings.

Assess and interpret nutrition-related data including anthropometric, biochemical, laboratory, and intake information.

Document comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop age- and disease-specific nutrition care plans.

Monitor patient response to interventions and adjust plans as needed.

Maintain current knowledge of dietary guidelines and standards of care.

Provide patient and family education with clearly documented outcomes.

Participate in discharge planning and ensure continuity of care, including phone follow-up when appropriate.

Collect and analyze nutrition-related data for process improvement and compliance.

Perform additional department-specific skills such as nutrition-focused physical exams, motivational interviewing, and MNT/DSME billing.
Professional Practice

Demonstrate proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.

Work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.

Maintain high levels of attention and concentration during detailed or repetitive tasks.

Meet physical demands including regular walking, standing, bending, and light lifting.
Qualifications
Required

Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or Nutrition.

Master’s degree required for individuals becoming Registered Dietitians in 2024 or later.

Completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program.

Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (or eligible within 6 months of hire).

Additional certification or progress toward certification may be required (e.g., CDCES, insulin pump training).
