Bronson LakeView Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehabilitation team. What You’ll Do
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will:

Evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders

Develop individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments
-
Establish functional baselines and measurable patient goals
-
Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
-
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
-
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning
-
Perform video swallow studies as applicable
-
Screen for hearing-related concerns during evaluations
-
Serve as a clinical resource and contribute to program development and quality improvement
-
Provide education and in-services for colleagues and the community
Qualifications
Required
-
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
-
Current Michigan SLP license in good standing
-
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through ASHA
-
BLS certification within 3 months of hire
-
Current NPI number or willingness to obtain one with Bronson support
-
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Basic computer and mobile device proficiency

Previous SLP experience

Experience in acute care, outpatient rehab, or both

Experience treating adult patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
-
Interpret and implement referrals; evaluate functional status using standardized assessments

Establish treatment plans and individualized patient education
-
Develop patient-centered strategies based on age, developmental status, learning style, cultural background, and functional goals

Screen for hearing concerns
-
Set patient goals and determine appropriate duration of therapy
-
Facilitate therapeutic activities that maximize functional independence
-
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discussions
-
Perform video swallow studies as required
-
Provide in-services and clinical expertise to the rehab team
-
Contribute to process improvement and program development
-
Serve as a resource in areas of clinical expertise
-
Cross-train and support other rehab areas as needed
Documentation & Administrative
-
Complete accurate, timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, services, and progress
-
Maintain compliance with electronic health record requirements
-
Communicate documentation barriers to leadership
-
Participate in department and system-wide improvement efforts
-
Provide educational programs for staff and the community

Serve on committees and task forces
-
Assist with supervision of students and volunteers
-
Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
This role involves regular standing, walking, reaching, and direct patient interaction. Candidates must be able to lift and move light-weight objects and assist with patient mobility as needed.
