Prestige Extreme Machining & Manufacturing is seeking an experienced General Laborer / Upgrader with 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, construction, or skilled-trade experience.
This position is designed for an experienced shop professional who has strong mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge and is ready to take on greater responsibility. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced builders and tradespeople while performing increasingly complex assembly, fabrication, and shop tasks.
This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to upgrade their skills and grow into a higher-level Builder, Fabricator, or Skilled Trades position.
Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on assembly, fabrication, fitting, and general manufacturing activities.
- Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Assist with complex builds and fabrication projects.
- Perform drilling, grinding, cutting, fitting, fastening, and other shop operations.
- Read and interpret basic drawings, layouts, measurements, and work instructions.
- Measure materials and components using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other measuring tools.
- Assist with setup and preparation of materials for production and build activities.
- Work independently on assigned tasks while meeting quality and production expectations.
- Identify basic fit, alignment, dimensional, and assembly issues.
- Assist experienced Builders and Leads with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Follow established build processes, specifications, and safety procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in an organized condition.
- Support other departments and shop personnel as needed.
- Take on additional responsibilities as skills and experience develop.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, assembly, skilled trades, or a similar environment.
- Aerospace experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to accurately measure and work with basic dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to read and follow drawings, layouts, work instructions, or sketches.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and assembly issues.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Automotive or aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Welding, fabrication, machining, tooling, or fixture-building experience is a plus.
