FasTemps is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Electronics Coating Operator for a well-established electronics manufacturer in the Ann Arbor area. This position helps protect printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies by preparing components and applying specialized protective coatings. Previous conformal-coating experience is helpful but not required. Candidates with strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and transferable production experience may be trained. Experience in electronics assembly, medical-device manufacturing, small-parts assembly, quality inspection, masking, painting, coating, finishing, soldering, or another precision-manufacturing environment may translate well to this position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare circuit boards and electronic assemblies for coating.
- Clean components and carefully mask areas that must remain free of coating.
- Position parts and assemblies in fixtures before processing.
- Apply protective coatings using manual spray, dipping, or basic automated equipment.
- Mix and handle coating materials according to established instructions.
- Inspect completed work under UV lighting for proper coverage and possible defects.
- Follow written work instructions, production procedures, and quality standards.
- Complete production records and basic computer documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow ESD, PPE, chemical-handling, and safety requirements.
- Report defects, process concerns, or equipment problems to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to read and follow detailed written work instructions.
- Basic computer and data-entry skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive, precision-oriented work consistently.
- Willingness to learn electronics-manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Dependable attendance, reliable transportation, and availability for the complete shift and required overtime.
Helpful Experience
Direct experience is not required. Candidates with related experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- Conformal coating, industrial coating, painting, masking, or finishing
- PCB, PCBA, electronics, SMT, or hand-soldering production
- Small-parts or medical-device assembly
- Visual inspection, quality control, spraying, dipping, or adhesive application
- ESD-controlled manufacturing or familiarity with IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001
Physical and Work Environment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to handle small components and perform detailed hand work.
- Comfort working around manufacturing chemicals, solvents, and UV inspection equipment.
- Ability to wear required PPE, which may include gloves, safety glasses, and respiratory protection.
