The Truttmann laboratory at the University of Michigan seeks to hire a postdoctoral research fellow to join the team. The lab is interested in ER proteostasis regulation in aging and aging-associated diseases. We use a combination of models (e.g. C. elegans, mouse, iPSCs) and techniques (e.g. gene editing, nanobody generation, small molecule screens) to identify, assess, and target novel mechanisms to mitigate aging-associated protein misfolding. Our current main focus is to study the human AMPylase, FICD, in the context of distinct protein misfolding diseases. For more information visit https://truttmann.lab.medicine.umich.edu/.
Our group values curiosity, teamwork, community, and the desire for intellectual growth. We are looking for an individual interested in contributing to the lab's ongoing research projects, while also develop their own scientific niche. An ideal candidate will bring new expertise and experience to the lab, while showing interest in learning new skills to expand their portfolio.
