Job Details

Gather information from a variety of sources inside and outside GM, build and run analytical models, interpret results for customers, attend development team meetings, and interact with compartment integration teams. Lead and execute development of new engineering analysis capabilities. Participate with Product Development teams on new/major/minor designs, providing analysis to assess performance of new designs. Create and execute Finite Element Analysis (FEA) plans for assigned projects. Lead CAE suppliers and internal resources to meet program milestones and deliverables. Perform structural analysis on complete Trimmed Vehicle Structure Consisting of BIW, Chassis Structure, Interior Structure (IP), Fixed Glass, Bumpers, Modules (i.e. CRFM, Battery), and Closures. Perform and coordinate resources for virtual assessment of designs and compare results to performance requirements. Recommend viable design solutions to resolve any performance issues with mass and cost efficiency. Plan and implement test and/or development programs to enhance CAE capability.
Use CAE to explain results of physical testing and engineer solutions to resolve issues with validation and release engineers. Stay abreast of new technology, competitive products, and latest CAE tools/trends. Hybrid Work Policy – 3 days In-Office, 2 Days Remote – Must be able to report to local office.
