Position is responsible for accurately entering information for each specimen into the laboratory management system (LIMS) in a timely manner.
Essential Responsiblities:
1. Reveive arnd revew personal data forms for each test specimen.
2. Enter personal information including donor name, observer name, medications, collection date, sample comments, and type of testing to be done inot the LIMS system.
3. Ensure all data is accurate and entered in a timely manner
4. Use best judgement to process information that is missing and/or illegible.
5. Work off of the special request sheet from high speed login, double-check the accuracy of A codes and special requests in the comments section. Correct any errors found.
6. Initiate a corrective action report when an error is identified. Distribute the oritinal to the responsible department and a copy to the Laboratory Director.
7. Collaborate with team on data management.
8. Assist Specimen Processing Coordinator with the receipt, opening, sorting, and processing of samples.
9. Work efficiently in a team-oriented environment in order to meet goals.
10. Maintain HIPAA conifdentiality at all times.
11. Look for opportunities to continuously improve the accuracy and efficientcy of the data entry operation. Make recommendations for improvements.

Previous data entry experience is required. Strong typing skills and the ability to accurately work with detailed data for extended periods of time is required. Other required skills include the ability to wrok independently, manage time effectively and exercise good judgement and initative. Must have excellent interpersonal and organization skills, and the ability to proactively solve problems, and multitask and prioritize.
