Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Cycle Counter at our Genesis Seating location in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
HOURS: 3:30PM-2:00AM, Monday-Thursday with overtime as needed. 2nd shift role.
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
SUMMARY: The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining and improving inventory accuracy through the execution of daily cycle counting activities, inventory analysis, and discrepancy resolution. This position supports warehouse and production operations by identifying inventory issues, promoting inventory integrity, supporting material flow activities, and contributing to a culture of safety, 6S, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What you will be doing:
· Serve as a shared owner of cycle count execution and inventory accuracy throughout the facility.
· Conduct daily cycle counts according to established schedules and inventory control procedures.
· Investigate inventory discrepancies and perform root cause analysis to determine and implement corrective actions.
· Verify inventory transactions, locations, quantities, and material movements to ensure ERP/MRP system accuracy.
· Research inventory variances involving receiving, production, shipping, scrap, and material handling activities.
· Monitor inventory accuracy metrics and communicate recurring issues to leadership.
· Assist with physical inventories, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities.
· Work collaboratively with Production, Receiving, Shipping, Planning, and Warehouse Operations to maintain inventory integrity.
· Review and validate inventory transactions and material movements to ensure proper documentation and system accuracy.
· Support material handlers by completing pick lists, material pulls, replenishment activities, and other warehouse-related functions as business needs require.
· Assist with material flow activities to support production schedules and customer requirements.
· Help maintain Kanban systems, supermarkets, point-of-use inventory locations, and material replenishment processes.
· Participate in inventory-related problem solving and continuous improvement activities focused on reducing inventory discrepancies and eliminating waste.
· Identify and implement process improvements that improve inventory accuracy, material flow, workplace organization, and operational efficiency.
· Conduct routine warehouse audits and identify opportunities to improve inventory control processes.
· Support the safe operation of material handling equipment, including stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as authorized.
· Conduct equipment inspections and immediately report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by supporting and sustaining 6S standards and visual management systems.
· Demonstrate ownership of assigned inventory areas by identifying abnormalities, correcting issues when possible, and escalating concerns when necessary.
· Support safety initiatives and actively promote a safety-first culture.
· Participate in Lean, Kaizen, continuous improvement, and problem-solving activities.
· Build positive working relationships with all departments and contribute to a team-oriented culture.
· Demonstrate flexibility and a positive "will-do" attitude while supporting changing business needs.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

A few things you will need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-3 years Stand-up and sit-down forklift experience experience.
- Minimum 1-3 years of inventory control, cycle counting, warehouse, material handling, or manufacturing experience.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and performing inventory transactions.
- Experience conducting cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory reconciliations preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Proven problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to exhibit sound judgment related to safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
