Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a multi-site retail organization, is seeking a skilled Senior Network Engineer. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure across a rapidly growing, multi-location environment. The engineer will bring deep hands-on Fortinet and multi-vendor networking expertise while helping assess the current environment and shape future network architecture.
Job Duties
- Design, configure, implement, and support LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and SD-WAN infrastructure across approximately 50 locations
- Configure and troubleshoot Fortinet technologies including FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiNAC, and related security and connectivity solutions
- Engineer routing and switching solutions utilizing VLANs, OSPF, BGP, spanning tree, and other enterprise networking technologies
- Assess existing network architecture, security controls, segmentation, policies, and configurations to identify gaps and scalability improvements
- Deploy and support Cisco and Meraki switching, wireless, and networking technologies alongside Fortinet infrastructure
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, configurations, technical documentation, standards, and operating procedures
- Support infrastructure projects including new-site deployments, network upgrades, migrations, and technology evaluations
- Troubleshoot production network incidents, provide technical guidance to developing engineers and support resources, and participate in an approximately six-week on-call rotation
Skills & Experience
Required
- 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience involving direct design, configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting responsibilities
- Hands-on experience configuring and administering FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiNAC is required
- Enterprise multi-site networking experience across WAN, LAN, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, and network security environments
- Experience configuring Cisco and/or Meraki enterprise networking technologies
- Strong technical knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPN technologies, network segmentation, and firewall policies
- Experience designing or deploying SD-WAN solutions in distributed, multi-location environments
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to work onsite five days per week and participate in an on-call rotation

- Hands-on ADVPN design, implementation, or administration experience
- Direct configuration experience with OSPF and BGP routing protocols
- Advanced Cisco and Meraki switching, wireless, IOS, or IOS-XE experience
- Experience assessing existing enterprise networks and identifying architecture, security, policy, documentation, and scalability improvements
- Microsoft infrastructure environment experience
- Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, CompTIA, or other relevant networking certifications
- Experience supporting rapid site expansion, network migrations, or large-scale infrastructure refreshes
