Position Summary
Senior Independence Home Care LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable caregivers to provide non-medical in-home support to older adults and adults with disabilities throughout Southeast Michigan.
Caregivers help clients remain safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible in their own homes by assisting with activities of daily living, personal care, homemaking, companionship, respite, and approved community living supports based on the individual's authorized care plan.
Senior Independence is currently seeking caregivers in Dearborn and surrounding communities, with assignments also available throughout its Southeast Michigan service area. English-speaking, Arabic-speaking, bilingual, and multilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Assignment availability depends on client needs, location, authorized hours, and caregiver availability.
The best ONET match is 31-1122.00 Personal Care Aides, which specifically includes job titles such as Caregiver, Direct Care Worker, Home Care Aide, Personal Care Assistant, and Personal Care Attendant. ONET describes the occupation as helping individuals with personal care and activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, ambulation, meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Caregivers may assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, transfers, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, companionship, respite, household routines, and other authorized activities of daily living. Caregivers should follow the client's approved care plan, document services performed, observe and report changes in the client's condition or needs to the appropriate supervisor, promote client dignity and independence, maintain a safe home environment, respect confidentiality, and communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and other authorized care partners.
These duties align closely with O*NET Personal Care Aide responsibilities, including personal hygiene assistance, documenting client progress, providing companionship, preparing meals, performing household tasks, and reporting changes to supervisors.
Qualifications
Candidates should be dependable, compassionate, respectful, and comfortable assisting older adults and adults with disabilities. Previous caregiving, direct-care, home-care, CNA, patient-care, or family-caregiving experience is helpful, although the employer may determine whether training is available for otherwise qualified candidates. Applicants must be able to follow care-plan instructions, maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality, communicate effectively, and reliably report for scheduled client assignments.
Because assignments occur in client homes, reliable transportation and the ability to travel to assigned service locations should be confirmed as an employer requirement before publishing the final posting.
