Quality Engineer
Location: Livonia, MI

Role Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and controlling quality processes for customer programs. This role ensures program quality requirements, ISO 9001 compliance, and customer standards are met through rigorous inspection controls, supplier support, and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain program-specific quality control plans and support ISO 9001 compliance.

Participate in the APQP process and prepare, approve, and submit first-article PPAP packages to customers and suppliers.

Support incoming, in-process, and End of Line (EOL) inspection, testing, and equipment calibration.

Lead quality issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and manage the Material Review Board (MRB) and Return to Vendor (RTV) processes.

Assist in supplier evaluation, selection, and supplier quality issue resolution.

Track and report Quality of Service (QOS) metrics and communicate project quality performance to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:

Associate degree in a relevant technical or manufacturing field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Minimum 3 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Hands-on experience with the APQP process, PPAP document preparation, and problem-solving techniques.

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems (QMS) and audit processes.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field.

American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification (e.g., CQE or CQA).

Experience with second-stage vehicle conversion, vehicle upfitting, or prototype environments.
