Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble menu items according to established recipes and specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers, ovens, fryers, and other culinary tools.
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients and executing meal prep for large crowds during events.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by following sanitation procedures, cleaning surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly.
- Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques, adhering to safety standards in production, and managing food storage correctly.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during high-volume events.
- Support catering operations by assisting with special event setups, food presentation, and breakdown as needed.
Experience:
- ServSafe Certification required
- Prior dietary department experience or dietary aide experience is highly desirable.
- Proven food service experience within restaurant or catering environments, demonstrating knowledge of food safety management and recipe adherence.
- Skilled in food preparation techniques such as slicing, chopping, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience working within the food industry or culinary environment that emphasizes safety standards in production.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members during busy events.
- Knowledge of meal planning, catering procedures, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
