Pay: $21/hour

Position Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant works alongside the RN/LPN to support the medical needs of residents. Responsibilities include medication administration, attending physician appointments, completing treatments, maintaining accurate medical records, coordinating appointments and pharmacy services, and completing other assigned clinical and administrative tasks.
When appropriately trained and authorized, the CMA may perform phlebotomy, lab draws, injections, and TB testing. The CMA also supports medical supply inventory, medication cart audits, and related health and safety services.
Essential Responsibilities
Medication & Clinical Support
- Administer medications as directed and in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist the RN/LPN with resident medical needs and treatments.
- Obtain and document vital signs for the treatment team.
- Perform lab draws, injections, and TB testing as directed and when appropriately trained.
- Assist with phlebotomy duties when trained and qualified.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Medical Appointments
- Schedule and coordinate resident medical appointments.
- Attend external physician and healthcare appointments as assigned.
- Ensure appointment information and follow-up needs are communicated to the appropriate treatment team.
- Maintain accurate appointment and medical documentation.
Medication & Pharmacy Management
- Coordinate with the pharmacy during medication cart changes to support accurate medication reconciliation.
- Complete weekly medication cart counts and regular cart audits.
- Identify and communicate medication discrepancies or concerns to the appropriate clinical staff.
Documentation & Administrative Support
- Manage documentation and the E.H.R. fax queue.
- Ensure medical records are accurate, complete, timely, and maintained according to organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident medical information and comply with HIPAA policies and regulations.
Inventory & Health/Safety
- Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies.
- Coordinate biohazard collection and removal services.
- Identify supply needs and ensure appropriate materials are available.
- Complete additional medical or administrative duties as assigned.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant certification required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Experience working in a healthcare, residential, behavioral health, or similar setting preferred.
- Experience with CMH and/or TBI populations preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Phlebotomy experience or training.
- Medication administration experience.
- Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to resident safety.
